2018 Fine Hotels and Resorts Released by American Express

American Express has just released the 2018 list and inventory of hotels in the Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) Collection.  The Fine Hotels & Resorts Collection is an selection of the world's most luxurious hotels.  American Express Platinum cardholders have access to special rates, benefits, and are able to get a 3rd or 4th night free at these hotels.  The list can still change as American Express may still be completing contracts but assuming no more changes there are some significant omissions to the new list.  In total there have only been 15 new hotels added and 211 removed.  The complete list can be viewed here.

The St. Regis Deer Valley is currently not included in the 2018 FHR hotels available to book. (Starwood)

Notable Hotels Removed

The St. Regis: 38 Hotels

Mandarin Oriental: 25 Hotels

Aman Resorts and Hotels: 25 Hotels

As of now there are three very notable entire brands omissions from the list: St. Regis Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, and Aman Resorts and Hotels.  While we hope this is just a result of contract negotiations it is entirely possible they may be excluded from the list.  In addition to those there are some individuals hotels that we are surprised to see off the list right now:

The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort

W Retreat & Spa - Vieques Island

Four Seasons New York

Park Hyatt Washington, D.C.

Trump International Hotel Waikiki

the ART, a Hotel is a new hotel in Denver that just joined the 2018 FHR list (the ART, a Hotel)

New Hotel Additions

United States: 7 Hotels

Italy: 2 Hotels

Rest of the World: 6 Hotels

This year brings a total of 15 new hotels to 2018 the Fine Hotels & Resorts list.  From a few chain hotels including the new Waldorf-Astoria Beverly Hills and the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki to independent hotel's like "the Art, a Hotel" in Denver.  Some of the other's we are very excited about join the program are

Las Alcobas Mexico City

Hotel Kamp

CastaDiva Resort & Spa

The Dewberry Charleston

As the rest of the the year comes closer we'll continue to monitor the status of the Fine Hotels and Resorts for 2018 and update this page if any of the currently missing brands or hotels get re-added to the program.  We're hoping they do!
